God's Place in my Life
needs updating but still accurate
This testimony needs time put into it but I do want to take just a second to express the basics of my beliefs and basis of my life.

I was born into a good Christian family and raised in the ways of the Bible. As I grew I came to understand that I am sinner, that is not perfect in the eyes of God. I came to understand that God, being perfect and just, cannot be in the presence of sin. So being a sinner and God not being able to be near sin created a barrier between myself and God.

I also knew the good side of it all and know that Jesus died on a Roman cross to pay the penalty for me sin. And that if I believe in Him and accept Him as my savior then He takes the penalty for my sins. This means that I am now able to be in presence of God.

Many Christians may witness to you and tell you about those basics about God and His love but that is only the beginning. God not only wants us to be able to come into his presence and to join Him in heaven when we die but he also wants to be a part of our life while we are still on this earth.

During my life I have had times, like when I was going through the basic sciences of my medical school days in Dominica, where I wandered from seeking God. Instead of taking time daily to read His word (the Bible) and to talk with Him through prayer I tried to do things on my own. I attempted to use my own skills and brains to get through the great struggle of medical school.

This not only works but life in miserable in the process. Both before that and since I work to keep my primary focus in my life on getting to know God better. Seeking to have a better relationship with my creator. And through this He, if I let Him, will take on all the struggles that I am dealing with in my life. He will go ahead of me and solve problems that have not even appeared yet. To make it plain and simple everything in life just mysteriously works out (but of course I do know why).

And the best part of it is that my life is so much easier and I feel increased joy daily. Even when things are going rough.

If you have read this and want to know more about this peace that comes through Christ feel free to write me. But I would also encourage you to pick up a copy of the Bible (I recommend the New International Version, NIV) and start reading in the book of Matthew. And don't accept what anybody tells you of God but ask them to back up what they say in scripture. If they are right they will stand up to such a challenge.
