Current Occupation:

Medical Student, Ross University School of Medicine.  Currently a clinical medical student.  Began studies in Sept 1999.  Anticipated graduation, May 2004 with the goal of entering family medicine residency training.

Previous Education:

  • University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland.  Dates of attendance, September 1995 through May 1999.  BS in Biochemistry.
  • Poolesville HS, Poolesville, Maryland.  Graduated, June 1995.
 

 

Activities/Employment History:

  • Centrifuge Camp Counselor.  Summer of 2002, 1999 & 1998.  Lifeway Christian Resources (Baptist) Summer Camp where I served as a Bible Study Leader, Recreation Director, Painting/Light Construction leader, Video Producer and Backpacking guide.
  • Ross Christian Fellowship.  Served as worship team member from September 1999 to August 2001.  Worship team leader Sept 2000 till April 2001.
  • Project Medishare, June 2001.  Worked with Dr. E. Fernandez to help coordinate activities involving 30 students from University of Miami and Ross University’s medical schools to treat patients in Dominica.
  • DC Outfitters.  University of Maryland based organization that collects and distributes clothes the homeless in Washington, DC.  Active September 1995 through June 1999.  Charter President of Univ. Maryland chapter September 1995 through June 1997.  President DC Outfitters, Inc., June 1997 through June 1998.
  • Laboratory technician working under Dr. F. Sullivan, Univ. of Maryland, researching the change in photopigments in soybeans with increased levels of ultraviolet lighting.  Sept 1998 through June 1999.
  • Ski Instructor, Winter 1999, Ski Liberty, Pennsylvania.
  • Volunteer EMT/Firefighter, Upper Montgomery County VFD, Beallsville, MD.  January 1997 through August 1999.
  • EMT-B working with Silver Spring Ambulance Service serving Washington, D.C. and suburbs.  June 1997 through Jan 1998
  • Software developer for Hughes Network Systems, Germantown, MD.  Worked on the software design for Hughes’ DirecPC, DirecTV and PES products.  December 1995 through January 1997.

 

Career Goals:

  • Complete medical school and residency to become an family medicine physician working part time in traditional medicine and working abroad in medical missions work through the Southern Baptist International Missions Board or similar agency.
  • Attend Seminary and work part time as a volunteer minister in a Baptist church that is too small to be able to financially support a full time minister.
